Our habits matter, and how you think about them makes a big impact on your success. We live in a world that feed our ideas that success should be instant. After all, we can get out meals instantly. Only look at how much trouble that has caused for us. Instant meals translate into too many calories, fats, sugar and salt. Instant meals cause us to gain weight, feel sluggish and tired. Luckily, there is another approach.
Changing your habits gradually, a little at a time, allows for sustainability. When you start slow and work your way into healthy new habits, they become a part of you. They become familiar and comfortable. You may not see immediate results, but stay with it, over time, and you’ll get there.
When you expect instant results, you give up too fast. You try for too much, too fast and then stop. Nothing is going to change that way. When you adjust the trajectory of your life, even by just a few degrees, it adds up over time. Say you cut back just 100 calories a day. It make take awhile to see any results, but it would add up to a 10 pound weight loss over a year. When you make changes it habits, it doesn’t have to be huge. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Just a little at a time, and yet after awhile it keeps adding up and it is a whole new healthy you!
